So far in this series, we’ve explored the Lab Trap and the Prototype Wall. But even with a robust prototype, many projects still fail to deliver impact. This is the Alignment Gap.

The Alignment Gap (2D Failure): When Excellence Doesn’t Find Its Way to Value

Strategic alignment gap

The story behind it: One might even have a robust prototype that is technically brilliant. But it fails to mesh with the strategic goals, procurement processes, or value chains of a large company or public sector entity. Here, the bridge between technology and actual business value is missing. Just because something is technically possible doesn’t mean it contributes meaningfully to business success.

The BCG/BDI study addresses this with the “Anchoring of AI-based value creation in organizational goals (KI2)” – but how is this practically implemented?

This is the third part of a 4-part series on DeepTech leadership. In the final post, we will discuss the solution: ‘3D Leadership’.
